ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Hey friends! Welcome to Girls’ Night!

Our guest for today’s episode is my new friend, Priscilla Shirer. Priscilla is an author, motivational speaker, actress, and Bible teacher. I’m incredibly honored to have her on the show and I’m telling you now, you’re going to want to grab a notebook and a pen for this one, because she’s just overflowing with Godly wisdom.

Today, Priscilla is going to be teaching us how to embrace our God-given identity, and I’m so excited about this episode.

Because here’s the thing — a lot of us have heard the things God says to be true about us.

We’ve heard Psalm 139 say that we are "Fearfully and wonderfully made." We’ve read Song of Solomon 4:7 that says, "You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you."

But if you’re anything like me, sometimes there’s a bit of a disconnect between what we hear God say about us and what actually feels true.

Need an example? Three words: Bathing suit shopping.

If you're anything like me, when you're in that dressing room, you don't feel fearfully and wonderfully made, and you certainly don't feel flawless. In fact, you feel very, very, very flawed. In that dressing room, God's truth feels almost impossible to believe. And that’s just one small example of something so many of us majorly struggle with!

So... what do we do?

How do we get this truth to move from our heads down into our hearts? How do we take this cerebral "on some level I know this is true" understanding of our identity and put it into practice so that it actually changes the way we feel and the way we live on a regular basis? How do we start to live as children of God who are seen, and known, and loved by the Father — instead of constantly feeling like the forgotten daughter?

That’s what Priscilla is here to talk to us about today. She’s going to help us learn what God says to be true about us, and actually start believing it.

Yes and amen to that.
